Snow Day #2
Welcome to Northern Michigan, where winter has decided to become a permanent fixture for this winter season. Winter lasts 6 months in these parts. Sunshine is rarely seen, it is dark and gray and if you have Bi-Polar disorder(I don't), you have to invest in one of those sunshine lights and place your face in front of it for a couple hours a day.
This is our weather forecast today. Lovely isn't it? It is becoming a weekly tradition and today is snow day number two for my kids, and their 4 day holiday weekend just turned into five. Last Monday they had their first snow day of the season and I believe our school system allows 6 snow days for the school year. So unless Mother Nature starts taking her medication, my kids could be going to school well into mid June.
Here is our lovely weather outside. Isn't it delightful? A nice, heavy, wet snow which I'm hoping doesn't pull down any power lines anytime soon.

Wow! That is some serious snow. I keep wondering when we will get ours. The longer it takes to get here, the longer it will last. At this rate, we'll still have snow when your kids are still in school in the middle of summer..lol. I hope you have no place in particular to drive in that kind of weather.
ACK! We have snow too, and I am already impatiently looking for July 4th!
'big girl snowpants' love it! I have a friend who uses 'big girl pants' on a regular basis and it always makes me howl when she says it!
So, that's where OUR snow has gone! We had it up to our thighs and now it has all disappeared and been replaced by rain. UGH! I much prefer snow...
Enjoy!
We just have wet, sloppy, muddy lawns here in Ohio right now. I'm wishing that our pretty snow was back! It shouldn't be too much longer before our scenery is covered in it again.
Beautiful pics! I especially love the one in your blog banner...WOW.
Yessiree! I got some of those big girl snow pants too! No use for them yet as we are snowless...well there is a little in the woods. We are brown, brown and grey! Averaging about one day of sunshine a week. Today is the day! I know the snow will come, probably measured in feet instead of inches. Your snow is beautiful..ours won't be nearly that pretty! :)
I'm not a Carhart kind of gal so I much prefer those "big girl" ski pants to wear out in my barn to do chores. Warm and lighter for me I guess. This snow is heavy and made my JDeere choke, sputter and chug when I was plowing my way around. I don't see this stuff leaving anytime soon.
wow what beautiful snow! im sure you arent finding it quite as beautiful at this point, but thanks for the pretty pics!
Good luck with all that!
