Barbie on the Cat

DSC_5001

She loves to play dress up. She still has a few Barbies lying around. She has learned to sew.....sort of. She's mastered the surgical stitch, sort of. She loves cats.
I am not talking about the cat above. The sweet little half equine half feline pictured here. She hasn't learned how to move with a Barbie perched in a saddle on her back yet.
Which brings me to an observation. Have you ever noticed how cats refuse, I mean will not move when they are dressed in doll clothes or in this case have a Barbie saddle wrapped around their body? Have you ever dressed your cat up? Hello? Anyone there? This is the stuff I blog about when I have 4 teenage boys over for a sleep over and they have taken over the television for the night.

Cats sit and look at you with this expression. As if to say, "Go ahead stupid human. Laugh. Giggle. Take pictures. I know when you are sound asleep at night and when the right time is to pounce on your chest and wake you up. I find the best opportunities to dart in front of you while you are going down the stairs."
But it is my daughter who I am referring to. Her new favorite past time is dressing up her beloved and ever so patient kitty Miley. I suppose if this cat really hated having little outfits put on her she would run and hide, bite, growl and hiss. But she doesn't. She tolerates my daughter yes. I imagine Miley kind of likes all the attention. I mean, isn't it written somewhere that cats were a worshiped animal long, long ago before they worshiped themselves?
My daughter has been creating a clothing(design line) for her cat. I love her imagination. I love that she wants to sew! To be a kid again and see life so worry and carefree!

That is hilarious! I wish my dogs would sit that still so I could humiliate them and take pictures. That would be so much fun in the evenings while I'm home by myself. Okay, I'm pathetic!

My kids stalked the dog and bunny and dressed them up and ran them around in the baby stroller, wagon...sled, they are older now but still include the animals in all their adventures, conversations....meal times.
I stumbled on your blog while looking for veterinary blogs, your photos are wonderful. I am also a veterinarian (stay at home mom now, for many years), married to an equine veterinarian.
Hoping your husbands tests are what you hope for.
