Amazing What A Year Does

DSC_0049_edited-1

Reading back to a year ago on my blog reminds me of how bad things really were. We were still struggling with the shock and awe of Tim's diagnosis six months out. He was struggling with his new chemotherapy protocol, fearful of focal seizures, adjusting to steroids, and exhausted. And then there was me. Figuring out my new job as caregiver. Running around with my head nearly cut off like a chicken constantly struggling. I really do not know how I survived last year's holidays. Amazing really.
Truly amazing how a year has gone by and how fast it slipped by.
Today I am more relaxed. Breathing in and remembering to exhale. Slowing down a bit and watching Tim live again. Seeing life differently. And rightly so because our life has changed. In so many ways. But we are good with that. Good with these changes. Content with how we have changed.
Tim has been given a new life so to speak. Starting over maybe. He has a long way to go physically. But he has a plan and will work hard to get his body working again.
Christmas is but a mere two days away! This has been an easy Christmas to plan for. I finished my shopping days ago which for me is so rare! However my mind is more clear and rested, happy too. I have enjoyed this holiday season thus far. Feeling thankful. Calm.
I am very excited for Christmas morning and seeing what Santa brings the kids. I have a feeling there will be some memorable presents under our tree. Hee...hee.
Are you ready for the 25th? Have you finished your shopping? Dealing with the crazy hustle and bustle of venturing into stores and standing in lines? Just a few more days. In a few more days Tim will be 17 months out!

It gives me such joy to hear the calmness and peace in your "voice" now compared to the sadness and exasperation that last year's challenges brought to you and your family last year.
I am so glad Tim is better and that you have accepted and beat the demon of the disease and the havoc that it brought into your lives.
I wish your entire family continued peace and love and pray that Tim only does better and better as the time passes.
Embrace one another in this victory and in your love and know that others care so much for you and your family. Happy, happy holidays!
