Deep Thoughts With Edgar

You know Edgar is a pretty smart cat. Edgar showed up Christmas day. Thank you sweet Santa Claus. We love him. He is pretty cool. He adds to this family with his neurotic cat ways. He has slipped into our lives quite easily, smoothly and like he knew he has lived here all along. Spooky I know. Whatever it is, he brings so much joy and laughter to our everyday lives.

What would a day without Edgar be like? Boring. That's what. Not that my life was ever boring before he purred his way in it. But definitely an added benefit. He sort of takes our mind off of that big C word, cancer.

If you look at this picture, a few things may run through your mind. First, he is sitting quite happily on Yooper Jr.'s shoulder. Second, he seems to be having some great ideas flowing through his little kitty mind. Third, Yooper Jr. seems to be wondering what Edgar is thinking. And fourth, gosh he is so darn cute! Both of them! My boys.

I've concluded he has this on his mind:

• "Wow! I am up so high! I could almost jump up to the skylight."
• "I so handsome. Snap away with your camera."
• "I spot a housefly that must be hunted."
• "I see cobwebs."
• "What are cobwebs?"
• "Casey is my favorite on American Idol."
• "Bet you didn't know I watch American Idol."
• "Yooper Jr.'s shoulder is my favorite place to be."
• "He is so tall. I like being up this high. Up here I can find houseflies."
• "And tell you about cobwebs."
• "Hey! Did you see that?"
• "Ha! Made you look."
• "I was a cheetah in my other life. Or maybe it was a monkey."
• "Do you think we look alike? Hmmm? Our noses maybe?"

And so some thoughts with Edgar. Always thinking. Busy. Seems to have an ongoing agenda.

We love him so.
