The Smell of Lilacs

I have woken up this morning, earlier than I would have liked to our dog Hope's whining in her kennel to be let out, cats meowing and racing around my bedroom, and rain hitting the windows in a downpour. Happy Saturday morning. But it gets better. Hope's whining was due to not only wanting very badly to be out of her kennel and for obvious reasons; diarrhea. Yes, my nose is still burning. So is my lilac scented candle. Which smells heavenly and gives me another reason to light it and have its scents fill our home. For reasons mainly to mask the smell of doggy diarrhea.

But don't worry. Hope is just fine. She tends to find edible treats around our farm that sometimes agree with her digestive system and other times give her the squirts. And as I type this she out in the cow paddock currently barking at a mama cow telling it to move so she can get closer to a pile of fresh calf poo to eat. She is just fine. Weird. Neurotic. Crazy. But just fine.

So today I am going to be somewhat lazy. I love Saturday's for that very reason. My last few Saturdays have been crazy busy and after this weekend, little league baseball and softball season will begin for my kids. Practices, games, driving back and forth into town several times a day. That will be my life for several months.

Even with today's yucky weather, it will be a good day to just hang around the house. Maybe bake some cookies. Catch up on some blogging. Do a little reading. Take a nap.
How are you spending your Saturday?

Our weather below I-69 is pretty much the same as yours, so it will either be the movies or an egg hunt if it dries up. Baking cinnamon rolls right now. Happy Saturday!

Right now I'm spending my Saturday looking thru' an icy office windows and trying to see the bent iced over boughs of the pine trees....YUCK. Welcome home, huh??

We woke up to ice covered everything! With the shelter being down I had to leave the barn door open for the horses to either go in or out. Should be fun, hoping for no fights over the stalls and food.
Our Saturday will be spent indoors for the morning and if the roads aren't too slippery we will be going to see Hop.
Hope you have a good day! Hi to all! :)

Sounds like a plan. I had high hopes to hit a few rummage sales and an auction, but it's 33 and raining/snowing. The boys are tucked in their stalls because for some unknown reason, they don't find staying dry under the lean-to to be a wise choice. So I make the choices for them, and in they go. Enjoying a spicy-hot bowl of chili before I get consumed by my couch.

today I did a few house chores(much needed) and now will focus on my neice's first prom! Lots to enjoy as the weather in our neck of the woods lately dumped another 8 inches of HEAVY snow. No worries though..seems it'll be gone in the blink of an eye....I HOPE!! I love a lazy Saturday and let it slide right into Sunday too..

I learned how to do something new this week---give subcutaneous fluids to my dog because she had diarrhea etc. She is back to 90% better now and finally able to add a bit of regular kibble to her bland diet. It is too chilly outside to do gardening so indoor chores are being done and the animals are all getting lots of attention.

hi there, i am your latests follower. for some reason i have no energy and am online. i did go out to the end of the road and look for bear tracks as the neighbor said there was a mama and her cubs. no tracks, no scat, no signs of bear so i think the neighbor has something wrong with him...sigh...it is cool and windy, rain ready to come any minute. hope your saturday is going well and no more poopy messes to tend to.

Amy, we're having the same here. It has rained alllllll day, and now I think I'm hearing some rumbling outside.....

Those days of not doing too much are treasures, and combined with bad weather going on outside, they truly are a gift to be enjoyed!

We had absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather yesterday. I spent 3 1/2 hours at the shelter taking pictures. Then did some shopping. Then stopped by an adoption event to see how things were going. Back home to play with my mischievous brats and enjoy the evening.

Oh, and I had to clean poo this morning! Ugh! Our lives are so glamorous!
